Small animal rescue, sanctuary, AND WILDLIFE REHABILITATION CENTER
"Making a difference, one tiny life at a time"
NEW!
aS OF october 2024 cORDY'S cASTLE IS NOW A LICENSED WILDLIFE sanctuary!
If you find a wild animal in need on Indiana soil, you may contact us for instructions, guidance, or to take them in for you if we have space. During her year in training Shannon has taken care of and successfully released squirrels, raccoons, opossums, rabbits, mice, bats, and more! She has adopted Scooter the Raccoon whose paralyzed back legs prevent him from living in the wild, and has equipped him with his own wheelchair to get around. Scooter was found stuck in a house wall and it is believed that his legs grew within that space causing permanent damage.

meet cordy!
Cordy is the namesake for Cordy's Castle. She is a 6-year-old rescued glider that suffers from cerebellar hypoplasia, more commonly known as the WIGGLES. This is a permanent, limiting, neurological condition that is easily preventable with proper breeding ethics. She has no equilibrium which causes her to see upside down, so she prefers to hang upside down so the world around her is clear. Regardless, Cordy is living her best life in her colony at the Cordy's Castle rescue.
6Here at Cordy's Castle we advocate for small animals in the public through EDUCATION, RESCUE, and SANCTUARY. We currently have close to 100 animals including 60+ sugar gliders as permanent residents.
Education
Cordy's Castle visits 2+ exotic pet shows every month, offering education and guidance on a variety of small animals. While sugar gliders are our specialty, we have other small animals as well. If we don't know the answer, we will help you find someone who does!

rescue
There's a lot of controversy on what the word "rescue" means. Some people argue it's "re-homing" if money is involved. Others feel that the removal of an animal from a situation where they are not receiving adequate care, even if it means buying them from someone who refuses to surrender them otherwise, still qualifies as a "rescue". Here at Cordy's Castle, we aren't worried about semantics. We care about helping animals in need and networking with others who share the same passion.

sanctuary
Many of the babies we take in are unhealthy, geriatric, ill-tempered, and are otherwise poor candidates for re-homing. We feel these little ones deserve just as much love and care as the others. For these residents, we provide a nurturing home for them to live out the rest of their little lives knowing they are loved, safe, and secure.
